send large email attachment

Over the pass few years, we’ve seen rapid increase in terms of storage space from few of the free email providers like Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail (Windows Live Mail), etc but rarely these guys increase the file attachment capacity. Most free email services limit you to send a maximum of 10Mb attachment per email.

SendAlong is a new online service that allows you to send more than 10Mb, in fact 100Mb on a free SendAlong account. How SendAlong works is pretty simple. Sign up an account and login; put in your email address together with recipient’s address; add a message or two if you need; attach your files (supports multiple attachments) and click send.

How about attachments bigger than 100Mb?

Then you will have you get a paid account. SendAlong allows attachments as big as 2Gb, that’s if you are paying for $54 a month for a SendAlong Plus account. Other options are available.

There is a free 15 days trial, so if you are planning to get a paid account why not try it out first. I personally don’t see a necessary in getting Plus. Really, if I were to send 2Gb of files over the Internet, I could have zip them in single files, upload to any web account and share the download URL; or perhaps share with via online file storage services like Megaupload, Rapidshare, etc.
